1.  Read my Introduction to Counselling document.  This covers the dull but necessary and important business and legal information which I must make sure everyone understands before starting.


Complete the mental health questionnaire.

2.  Complete this broad and basic Mental Health Questionnaire, which covers the most common problems which bring people to psychotherapy.  It also has room for you to comment on your strengths, and what you would like to get out of therapy.

The questionnaire is in PDF format.  If you have the technical skills to fill it out electronically, and return it to me before your first session, that would save time in the first session.  If not, no worries.  Print it, fill it in, and bring it with you.  If you do not have a printer, you can also arrive early for your first session, and fill in a copy located in my waiting room.

3. Download the MyOutcomes app to your phone or tablet.  It is available for both Apple and Android devices.  It can also be completed using an internet browser.

I use this at the beginning and end of each session, to gather information about your progress and how well I’m doing as your therapist.  Consistent use of this kind of feedback has been shown to help improve the outcomes of psychotherapy.  I think it is safe to say both you and I want that!
